Yes, every addiction has a root cause, but the reasons vary.
It may be an out-of-control habit or a painful trauma.
Trauma often creates internal pain.
The habit loops and addictions attempt to quell the pain.
Trauma is often a one-time event.
With counselling, you can revisit the memory and transform it to remove the pain.
Other addictions start slowly as a habit and build up with repetition.
There are many different ways of becoming addicted.
However, in all addictions, it’s your mind that agrees with the action.
Your mind says, “I want to do this”.
To overcome the addiction there needs to be a new mental agreement.
Your mind has to agree that “I don’t need this thing.”
The process isn’t easy, or instant, but it starts with “I don’t”.
And the solution needs to be as repetitive as the addiction.
I don’t! I don’t! I don’t!
Use your mind to overcome the physical attraction in the body.
It may not be easy, but it is possible.
