You have a problem when your actions and activities negatively affect you or the people in your life.
Negative, as in limiting, isolating, emotionally draining, conflictual, unhealthy, hurtful, financially painful, and destructive.
Internal problems lead to feelings of sadness, frustration, anger, pessimism, low energy, depression and suicidal thoughts.
Negative thoughts produce negative emotions, which release cortisol and adrenalin. These cause the body to feel distressed.
Look in the mirror.
If your face is unhappy, it’s telling you you have a problem.
External problems can be observed in your relationships.
Are you gaining or losing friends?
Are you at peace with others or are you in turmoil?
Do people love being with you?
Do you rub people the wrong way?
Are your problems negatively affecting others?
How can you tell if you have a problem? Ask a trusted friend and listen honestly to their input. Your best friends will know. Trust them. Stop hiding and openly discuss your situation with a counsellor or best friend.
Then you will know.
